A special thank you to Ms. Lawlor for teaching every class in the school some Irish Dancing. It was great to see the happy faces and hear the noise from the Junior Hall this week. The children had a great time.

Road Safety
Due to circumstances beyond our control there will not be a school warden on duty Wednesday 19.03.25 - Friday 21.03.25 incl on old Esker Lane, Lucan 13 metres north of junction with Esker Dr. (Pedestrian Phase). If you could let the parents know, sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Lego Club
Term 3 of Lego club will run Tuesday afternoons from 2:40pm – 4:00pm for 1st and 2nd classes. A new term will start on Tuesday the 25th of March. There are a limited number of places available. To register your interest and find out more information please email eskerlegoclub@gmail.com
School Closure
The school will be closed tomorrow, Friday the 14th of March and will reopen on Wednesday the 19th of March.
Lucan St. Patrick’s Day Parade
The Lucan St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a free family day out in Lucan. The parade is held every year since 1991 on St. Patrick’s Day 17th March. This year St. Patrick’s Day falls on the Bank Holiday Monday. Lucan St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a non-profit, volunteer lead, organisation funded by a Community Grant from South Dublin County Council, donations from Lucan Traders, and various fundraising events held during the year.
The Lucan Parade takes place at 3pm on St. Patrick’s Day, Sunday 17th March. The parade will assemble and commence at the large green located at Green Park Road / Westbrook Park / Hillcrest Close in Hillcrest (adjacent to Tesco) from 2pm, be in place by 2:30pm.
Parade route
The Parade commences at 3pm sharp and proceeds down Dodsboro Road, under the N4 bridge onto the Leixlip Road, past McDonalds, onwards towards The Bally Alley pub, and into Lucan Village, past the review stand located adjacent to Coffee Works / Carrolls / Muintir na Tire and disperses up through the village past Lucan Demesne and House. The parade takes two hours approximately to complete the route.
Parents Association Subs
All parents can now pay the Parents Association Subscription on Aladdin. The sub is €10 and this helps the Parents Association further develop the school.
Tesco Community Fund
When visiting Tesco Dodsboro to do your shopping, please be sure to ask for the Tesco Blue Tokens and to put them in the St. Thomas JNS Parents Association box. The Parents Association are looking for the community to support the school to invest in new technology for the children. Please be sure to spread the word that this in Tesco in Dodsboro.
Coicís na Gaeilge
A special thank you to Mr. J. Coleman, Ms. Conway, Ms. M. Lawlor, Ms. O’Loughlin and all the teachers who put so much time into planning a fabulous Coicís na Gaeilge. Their passion and love for the language is reflected by the children’s enthusiasm.
Dates for the diary
April 4th – School closes at 11.50 for junior and senior infants and 12.00 for first and second class for in school training.
April 7th – First Confession for second class pupils preparing for First Holy Communion.
May 24th – First Holy Communion for second class in St. Patrick’s Church.
May 26th – Parents Association host a party in Scoil Aine for the children in second class.
May 27th – County Photos will be in the school for the Communion Photos.

Principals Note
I hope everybody has a relaxing and enjoyable Bank Holiday weekend and Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everybody and I hope to see some familiar faces at the parade.
