The Curious Minds Awards helps to establish schools as a leading educator in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths), creating a forward-focussed, learning environment for both teacher and student. The Curious Minds programme, supplies the tools to empower students to spark fun and curiosity both inside and outside the classroom.
We are delighted to tell you St Thomas JNS achieved a Science Foundation of Ireland Curious Minds GOLD Award in April 2024.
This is what the judges had to say about our application:
Congratulations to everyone at St Thomas' Junior National School on your award! The log of your SFI Curious Minds experiences clearly provides evidence of a wide range of STEM activities in your school this year and it’s great to see so many classes involved. Well done to the class who took such good care of the chicks for 2 weeks, it looked like great fun. I was also really impressed by all the budding engineers and their different types of buildings and towers. And I particularly enjoyed watching the Bee Bots dancing to Macarena! It’s also fantastic to see engagement with STEM outside the classroom such as planting seeds in the park, your maths trail, and your visit to Lucan Library to see a Science show. Well done and keep up the amazing work!
