St. Thomas' J.N.S.

Principal’s Welcome

TW3.jpgWelcome to all visitors to our school website from Ireland and abroad.

St. Thomas’ J.N.S.is a Junior Co-educational primary school situated in the community of Esker, to the south of Lucan village, and ten kilometres west of Dublin city centre. The school was founded in 1976 and has grown from humble beginnings back then, with two teachers in temporary accommodation, to the busy modern school that it is today with 564 pupils and 45 staff . St. Thomas’ has a broad intake of pupils coming from over thirty nationalities and twenty religions, and while it has a Catholic ethos, it prides itself on it’s ability to include, integrate and differentiate for all the individual pupils, who make the school what it is .

A culture of mutual respect is intrinsic to the pupils and staff of the school .

Pupils are offered a broad and balanced curriculum with a focus on quality teaching and learning, and with opportunities for every pupil to experience success across a range of subjects. The broad development of the individual is at the core of our school ethos, with an eye to the future and the essential life-skills each boy and girl will need to fully participate in society.

We aim to provide a happy and safe learning environment where all our pupils and staff can learn and grow to their fullest potential. We hope that you get a small flavour of our school from the website and that we get to meet you in person in the future.

Le gach dea ghuí,
